(as a service user),

I gave birth at Wishaw a few weeks ago and would just like to thank my own midwife, Caroline, and the midwife who assisted with my birth, Jane.

I had concerns over my previous birth plan not really being listened to and Caroline marked it up so that the midwives at the hospital would read it.

Jane really took this on board and ensured it was adhered to as much as possible and as a result, I had a much better experience this time, despite it all being a bit manic at the end.

She ensured that everything was explained to us and crucially that I was able to give birth how I wanted, rather than what may have suited her.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the Motherwell midwives and the labour ward in University Hospital Wishaw.

Congratulations on your new baby!

I am delighted to hear of the person centred care that went into your maternity journey and that Caroline ensured your birth plan was marked up and Jane followed this as best she could. Although it was a little manic at the end, I am sure Jane's earlier actions would have helped to reassure you.

I will ensure your kind words are passed on to Jane and Caroline who I am sure will be delighted to hear this.

I hope you are keeping well and you are all settling well into family life.
