"Another great example of a nurse led service"

I had an appointment late May at Falkirk Community hospital in the sexual health clinic for removal of my implant and insertion of a new one.

Firstly what an easy booking system. Trying to get the procedure done through my GP was difficult, needing two appointments and both on set days with no lay way regarding this.

I was attended to by a lovely welcoming receptionist and the nurse Olivia who performed the procedure and Kirsty who had just started.

What an incredible service! No waiting time. Olivia was friendly, professional, efficient and very competent (I was a tricky customer getting the existing implant out) but she did it with ease, making me feel comfortable and relaxed and well cared for. She explained everything so well, including after care.

Kirsty, although just started was lovely and great to chat to throughout the appointment.

Another great example of a nurse led service -  running efficiently and effectively with compassion and patient centred care throughout. A lot of medical staff would do well, to take note of how well run, nurse led services like this operate, as well as senior managers!
