I was in for a repeat procedure at the RAH as large polyps had been discovered during the first one which couldn't be removed at the time. I was incredibly nervous to the point my pulse was too high to go ahead. However the fantastic nurses (Shyni & Nicola) kept talking to me and managed to calm my nerves and my BPM came down.
The surgeon Professor was very patient with me and explained everything as she was going along with the procedure. One of the nurses (Sylwia) was fabulous. She kept talking to me all through the procedure which helped keep my mind off things.
All in all, for what is something not very pleasant to experience, all staff involved were very caring and professional when handling me.
Thank you to all the staff at the Gastronomy unit for your support.
