"Thank you for such good care"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Radiology (X-ray)

(as the patient),

I arrived for my appointment and was seen fairly quickly.  I had a mammogram, then received a letter 2 weeks later for a call back to have an ultrasound. I was so wound up but after being called into the ultrasound room the two nurses/radiographer who I was seeing were so kind and reassuring they made me feel calmer. Fortunately it was good news but without those two caring people I don’t know how I could have relaxed on that table.  Thank you for such good care.

I am a Diagnostic Radiographer with many years experience of working, and imaging patients, in all areas of the Radiology department. I am also responsible for the governance in Radiology and so make sure that we are compliant with the many ionising radiation regulations that dictate what we can and can't do in radiology, keep the patients and staff safe and ensure we are practicing safely. I also deal with our policies and procedures and oversee compliments, complaints and quality.

Dear 33hcaebb03,

Thank you for taking the time to leave positive feedback after your appointment and what was understandably a worrying time for you. I'm so pleased that on your return the radiographer and nurse were able to reassure you before the examination started and so you felt much calmer, and that you received good news at the end.

I will pass your kind comments onto the breast team in radiology who will be really pleased to receive it as they all work hard to make sure the experience received by patients during the breast procedures is as comfortable and as calm as it can be.
