I have just booked an appointment at Peel GPs, which is great, but it took 3 phonecalls; over 2 weeks, and 2hrs & 45 mins on hold!!!
Unfortunately, I had the old number ending 1515, which was no longer in use, but was still active, with the recorded message in place.
There was nothing in that message that informed users of the new, more efficient number they could call. With all the technology available, it is unacceptable that this number is still active because it cannot be accessed to either update the message, or to take it out of use.
Thankfully, my condition is not urgent, but I would be very worried for other users who need more immediate care, and were also unaware of the phone number change.
However, on the positive side, once I found the new number for the surgery, it was both quick, and efficient, and I did not have to wait on hold as the service offers call back.
The receptionist was also helpful up until the point he terminated the call without so much as a ' goodbye' .
