I had an accident,  I broke my shoulder and ripped tendons. I attended barnstaple hospital,  a&e were amazing to start, but when I left with a sling and pain killers the following day the pain seem to get worse in my shoulder and back, so two days later I returned to a&e , where I was seen by a senior nurse, who explained the reason I was in so much pain was the sling I was put in was a child's sling and due to me being 6ft . Long arms it was not supporting my arm but putting me off balance causing me more uncomfortable. 

The Friday I had a call to return to the out patient fracture clinic for more xrays and to see a doctor, he explained the break I have is complex and he has never seen or dealt with before.  He would need further advice and said he would call me that evening around 8 pm. At 8 pm he called me to say unfortunately he needs to email other surgeons around the country for advice, due to the weekend he would call me Monday. 

Monday came no phone call, I thought due to bank Holiday, he may have the day off . Tuesday I contacted the Fracture Clinic to see if any updates also to see if I was required to go to hospital as I had a funeral to attend in south of England,  the receptionist said no updates, so I explained I will be away until Wednesday evening. 

Tuesday my partner drove me to the funeral late morning after the phone call, that evening at 8.30 I received a call from the hospital to do a pre op!! , I asked is this for my shoulder? Yes . Great I responded , but I needed to be in hospital the following morning by 7.30, I explained that I phoned that morning and that my partner and I had driven to the south of England to attend a funeral and I can't get back until the afternoon due to my partner having had alcohol most of the evening and I said about the conversation I had that morning with fracture clinic.  The following morning I contacted the fracture clinic, they said the on call surgeons will phone me later that day!! 

No phone call recieved 

Today I contacted them three times and again was told they would call me!!

No phone call recieved 

I feel very disappointed with the service, lack of communication from the hospital,
