"A medical trial"

About: Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Cardiology Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Clinical Research Team (C-TRIC )

(as a service user),

Useful & grateful

Following a heart attack and cardiac arrest (STEMI) at 51 I was tested and found to have elevated levels of LP(a) which was probably a contributing factor.

Shortly afterwards I was recruited on to a medical trial on a drug which was developed to lower the LP(a).

The nurse I work with on the trial, Tracy, is always very helpful and informative, keeping me up to date on the progress of the trial, advising on wider health matters and ensuring I am on the appropriate medication. She makes me aware of the contribution I am making by participating in the trial and how it will benefit others in the future
