"Trying to make an appointment"

About: Trentside Medical Group

(as a parent/guardian),

Tried to make an appointment for my daughter to discuss contraception. Called at 8am in the morning, took nearly an hour to get through to be told no appointments for the day as it wasn't an urgent appointment. I asked if we could book for another day. They said a phone appointment was available for the next day, was happy with that until we got a message to say it had been been cancelled due to staff sickness, I understand this can't be helped. So again called back got told there was a phone appointment available for the following day and booked this. Again got a message to cancel, called to rearrange, 28th in the queue!!! Decided to try the sexual health clinic, got straight through an appointment booked with a friendly and helpful receptionist. Then to finish it off got a text message to confirm appt. My Daughter said that she would have given up and wouldn't have known about the sexual health clinic and whilst she has been mature enough to have a conversation about contraception before needing and trying to be sensible this flawed system could end up having detrimental impact on people,  really needs to change.
