"I was given excellent care"

About: Adult Health & Support Services / Primary Care Out of Hours NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as the patient),

I would like to thank the Primary Care Out of Hours (PCOOH) service and NHS24 when I had to attend for an appointment due to increasing abdominal/back pain. NHS24 answered my call within 10 minutes and I spoke to a call handler then a nurse both of whom were very professional and helpful in accessing my condition.

I then received a call from the PCOOH service and given an appointment time for Douglas Street, Hamilton.

When I arrived for my appointment the reception staff (Alistair and Janice) were very welcoming and Laura the HCSW who carried out observations was professional and explained all the procedures thoroughly.

I was then seen by Dr Nugent who was very attentive, listened to my concerns and then gave me excellent advice and ongoing treatment.

Thank you once again to the team in PCOOH, Douglas Street, Hamilton. despite them being extremely busy I was given excellent care.

Thank you for sharing your story on Care Opinion, I was sorry to learn you had cause to contact the 111 service when you were feeling unwell. I hope you are now feeling much better following your appointment at the Out of Hours service in Hamilton.
