I sent bowel screening test kit to Bowel Cancer Screening programme and received a letter stating that I needed further investigation. Specialist screening practitioner phoned me at a pre-arranged time and explained that I required a colonoscopy. She explained the procedure and gave me an appointment date for it. Excellent service from this person with full explanation.
Bloods taken before procedure to confirm all areas were covered. Given clear instructions from both Specialist screening practitioner and written instructions contained in letter and leaflets sent as confirmation of procedure.
Day of procedure in Downpatrick Hospital was excellent and I want to commend the staff and nurses on their attentive and courteous. I cannot thank them enough for their help. Well done Downpatrick Hospital.
"Attentive and courteous staff"
