"Getting a CT Scan"

About: Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick children / X-Ray Department

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter had to go for her first CT scan recently. She was nervous about it, but as we walked into the hospital, we were greeted by a lovely lady called Daisy. She helped us find where we were supposed to go, which helped settled some first nerves. She was very friendly and chatted to us the whole way to the X-ray department.

Then when we got to the X-ray department, we were met by another 2 lovely ladies who took us in for my daughter’s CT scan.

They talked us through the whole scan and made my daughter feel very safe and calm. They answered all my daughter's questions, and mine, and my daughter even asked if we could do the scan again sometime as she had so much fun!!

The children’s hospital at the Royal Belfast have been so kind and caring every time we have been there, and my daughter always leaves feeling very settled and relaxed. They always make the whole experience feel a lot less daunting and scary.
