"Pulmonary Rehab is definitely worthwhile"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Pulmonary Rehabilitation

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

When I was encouraged to attend Pulmonary Rehab classes I was pretty anxious and not sure how it would benefit my COPD.

After day 1 I knew I was going to stick it out. Staff where brilliant, really encouraging and each week we all had a good laugh during class. Feeling a little fitter each week by doing the exercises both in class and at home with my wife, had a big part to play in motivating me to attend each week.

During the course I learned much more than I new before about my Lung condition especially how to take my medication correctly, which had never been explained to me before. Pulmonary Rehab is defiantly worth while,

Thank you!

Dear branyw84

Thank you for such wonderful feedback following your recent Pulmonary Rehabilitation course at Renfrew Leisure Centre.

It is great to hear that you found the whole experience so positive. It can be daunting stepping out of your comfort zone so its amazing to hear that your peers, the staff and the general atmosphere encouraged you every week to come along every week.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation is such an important intervention so its brilliant to hear you embraced it and can really feel the benefits from both the exercise and educational aspects.

Take care

Kind Regards
