"Ridiculous waiting times"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Initial Assessment Unit

(as the patient),

The waiting time at the IAU at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Glasgow is absolutely ridiculous, been here 10 hours, not once has there been any communication from staff regarding anything and there isn’t even anyone on the desk?

Nurses have been coming and going, ignoring people waiting at the desk to speak to someone else, such rude behaviour from the staff here.

Dear gredn77

Thank you for sharing your experience at the Immediate Assessment Unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Glasgow. We apologise for the long waiting time and the lack of communication you’ve encountered during your visit.

We understand how frustrating and distressing it can be to wait for extended periods without clear updates, and we are sorry that this was your experience. We regret that you felt ignored or that staff did not engage with you in the manner expected.

We will ensure that staff are reminded to acknowledge and communicate with patients, even during busy times, to provide reassurance and support.

Thank you

Nicole
