"My daughter's x-ray"

About: Lymington New Forest Hospital / Radiology

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter had fallen on her wrist/hand in a swimming pool and we were unsure if it was broken. Triage occurred straight away once we’d booked into reception. We were seen not long after by a nurse (Shelley) in UCT who was really attentive and courteous towards us both. She was especially kind to my daughter, calming her nerves and speaking through what would happen next.

We were sent to radiology where a lovely Radiology assistance Kate helped us through to a separate waiting area ahead of some of the routine appointments. Kate was engaging, courteous and kind and took her time to make my daughter also feel at ease. She was so happy with all the care that she even braved it and went in the Xray room without me. I think this is all down to the staff being so amazing!

Going back to UCT Shelley saw us almost straight away and explained the Xray and what we needed to next. We left very informed and relaxed given my daughter had been quite stressed with the pain and injury.

Thanks so much everyone!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your recent experience in the Radiology Department at Lymington Hospital. I am the line manager of Kate, the Radiology Department Assistant (RDA) you kindly mentioned in your review. Kate is a valued member of our team hardworking, compassionate, and deeply committed to the care of our patients. She has a natural empathy that helps put people at ease, and I’m so pleased to hear she was there to support you and your daughter during your visit. Hospital visits can feel daunting, especially when a loved one is unwell or injured. It means a great deal to us that Kate was able to help make your daughter's experience a little easier. We always work hard to offer reassurance and strength to our patients, especially during times that can feel stressful or overwhelming.

I sincerely hope your daughter is recovering well. Thank you again for your kind words, I will make sure to share your feedback with Kate, as it will mean a lot to her and support her ongoing development.

Wishing you and your daughter all the very best
