About: General Practices in Grampian

(as a relative),

Having attended my husband's GP practice for him to see nurse I was surprised to see a waiting room empty .

I understand new ways of working, but this surprises me when we go on about accident and emergency being over stretched .

When you do call re appointment  it can be a wait for response on phone then for plan to get appointment

Dear leopardhh45,

Thanks for sharing your feedback via Care Opinion. I can understand why the empty room would lead to questions when we hear regularly that A&E departments are overstretched. I’m not sure why this room was empty but I suspect it might have been due to a staffing issue. The General Practice names aren’t shared on Care Opinion where the feedback isn’t positive, this is because most of the GP Practices in Grampian are independently run and aren’t registered with Care Opinion. They don’t routinely access the feedback either so the practice won’t see this without it going straight to them. The best option is to contact the practice directly with your feedback. I understand this means revealing your identity, but it does mean they will be able to look into the particular details of your experience and provide a more factual answer than I can.

If you would like me to forward this to the practice for learning & reflection, rather than a direct reply, you can contact me on email: kirsten.dickson@nhs.scot or telephone /text: 07885720267 with the practice name.

Kirsten
