"My daughter attending speech and language"

About: Children's Specialist Health Services / Children's Speech & Language Therapy

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter had an appointment with leigh at speech and language in condorratt health centre in cumbernauld.  My daughter was a bit anxious about the appointment as she didn't know what to expect but leigh was fantastic she welcomed us and spoke away,  asking her what she had been up to so through the appointment she felt more relaxed and also made the tasks fun and played games which really helped..Leigh also gave us some resources to take home to practise to help her along and also sent the same to her school. She's now coming on great with her pronounciation of words and letters. Thank you.

Dear trapperdz47

Thank you so much for taking the time to write about you and your daughter's experience of speech and language therapy.

So glad to hear that Leigh's approach helped your daughter relax and have fun. Communication should be fun for children!

I will pass your kind comments on to Leigh.

I also hope your story can help other parents who are reading this. While some children will need more specific intervention from a speech and language therapist, often just little bit of help is all parents need to support their child's communication.

So pleased to hear your daughter's speech is coming on great.

Kindest regards

Pauline
