"Lovely approachable manner"

About: Clydesdale / Health Visiting Clydesdale Maternity Care / Antenatal

(as the patient),

I had my daughter in Wishaw General - where I had a 10/10 experience from the moment we arrived until we left. This was my second ELCS so the recovery has been harder than with my son. During this period, I’ve had a great experience with both my midwife, Paula and my Health Visitor Laura. Paula made sure to check in with me frequently after I was discharged home and was kind and compassionate with my concerns about my section site, particularly when I rescheduled out with concerns of the area being infected.

Paula checked in regularly until I was discharged into the hands of the HV team. My Health Visitor, Laura, has also been incredibly warm and helpful whilst remaining professional. Laura has visited my home and answered concerns I had, again in regards to my infection. Laura has a lovely approachable manner and is able to relate to me effortlessly on a more personal level whilst ensuring she is providing professional care to myself and my daughter. She took the time to talk me through the resources available to me and was patient when I had to reschedule an appointment at the last minute due to extenuating circumstances.

I’ve been really happy with the care I’ve received from all teams and having recently moved to the area, I was feeling a bit out of my depth with not knowing anyone or the area too well - however, the care provided has made the first few weeks of my recovery less lonely and daunting.
Thank you to everyone.

Dear ELD27,

Congratulations on the birth of your baby daughter. I do hope you are both well and that your son is enjoying being a big brother!

Thank you for taking the time from your busy life as a mum to provide us with this very valuable feedback, it is very much appreciated.

I am delighted to hear that you and Laura have a positive relationship and that you feel well supported by Laura and the service. Furthermore, it appears to me that Laura has ensured that the service she delivers to you and your family is based on a person centred approach. Although Laura will visit you in line with the Health Visitor Universal Pathway, please be assured that Laura and the extended team will be available to support you out with those planned contact times

I will be very happy to share your feedback with Laura who will be delighted to receive it

Kind Regards
