Over the last 9 months of 2024  my breathing got worse until I had to go to my doctor who prescribed tablets to control my blood pressure.

This didn’t help so my doctor asked the cardiac nurse to visit after l had collapsed twice on the stairs

Shelley arrived in early January and diagnosed heart failure ( fluid overload)

She  checked all my medications and changed them to better tablets to help with my problems

Shelley came for about 5/6 weeks and in that time she improved my heart rate and blood circulation and helped to control my breathing, when she reached this level she asked the community matron Karen to take over.

Karen has been attending me for the past 10 weeks and with her and Shelley's skill and expert knowledge I am now as good as I can be, breathing well and being quite active and almost back to normal

I am convinced the skill of both these excellent and dedicated nurses l would not be where I am today.

With my appreciation

Dear Ream,

Many thanks for taking the time to share your experience with the Heart Failure Specialist Nurse and Community Matron - sincere apologies in the delay in response.

I'm really sorry to hear you had been unwell last year and struggling with your breathing, this must have been a worrying time for you. But it is fantastic that with the expertise of Shelley and Karen your health has improved, and you are almost back to normal.

We value all feedback, as it helps us improve our services, but it is really great to hear when we are doing well and the positive impact we have on our patients lives. I will be sure to share this with Shelley and Karen, as well as the wider team.

Kind Regards

Ilona
