"Lucky to have you"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital / Paediatrics

(as a parent/guardian),

My 3 year old daughter Mabel was admitted to the Oak ward at MPH on Saturday evening just gone. She suffered with viral wheeze. Sadly, this isn't the first time we have had to stay overnight due to this but it doesn't make it any easier & is still just as stressful and upsetting when our little girl is so poorly and not her usual self.

On arrival we received our usual warm welcome, and each member of staff we come across couldn't have done anymore for us. It is awful when your child is in hospital, but I knew we were in the best hands. The doctors, nurses & HCA's were so kind, explaining everything in detail for us & offering cups of tea at any given opportunity.

I'd like to say thank you to Dr Laurence, Dr Polly, Dr Lucy, Nurse Elizabeth & Nursing Associate, Lindsey who were so kind to us during our stay. I'd also like to send a special thank you to Nurse Mollie  who spent the day looking after a very grumpy & unwell toddler after a bad nights sleep - she was so patient & caring with my little gir- she really is an amazing asset to the NHS and children's unit at Musgrove. You are all amazing at your jobs & our stay could have been much different if we weren't lucky enough to have you all on shift! Thank you, so so much!

Dear j3mcr1

Thank you so much for taking the time to send such lovely feedback via care opinion following your recent stay on the children's unit.

We know it can be such a worrying time when your child needs to come to hospital, I am so pleased that you felt well cared for.

We have such a wonderful team here on Paediatrics, and we are incredibly lucky to have Dr Laurence, Dr Polly, Dr Lucy, Nurse Elizabeth, Nursing Associate, Lindsey and Nurse Mollie as a part of that team. I will of course pass your amazing feedback on to all of them and the wider team here on Paediatrics.

I hope little Mabel is at home now and feeling much better, and that you have managed to catch up on some much needed sleep.

Thank you once again for writing to us

Kind Regards

Angela Giles
