I had a bad fall and 2 days later suffered from double vision. I felt very scared.
I was treated initially in Daisy Hill A&E where i was treated as a possible stroke patient, I had an emergency CT- this was clear and then I was transferred by ambulance to Craigavon to Ramone 3 stroke unit while awaiting an MRI. Thank goodness this has also ruled out nerve or brain damage and I’m being discharged. I have to attend the RVH Belfast tomorrow for emergency eye appointment.
From the moment I entered each hospital I was treated with dignity and respect and was reassured at each stage of my treatment. I felt like I was important to each staff member and that they cared about my treatment. No question went unanswered. They were very attentive. As I was treated I encountered numerous staff members and everyone in every department was equally professional and caring and I felt like I was in safe hands.
On a side note the food was excellent- the choices were various and of high quality considering the volume of food which has to be produced throughout the hospital.
The ward was clean and re cleaned regularly by friendly team members.
I wish to express my sincere thanks for the care and treatment provided to me throughout my stay. The care and compassion shown by all team members helped alleviate my fears and make the process as pleasant as possible.
"Head injury and true compassion shown"
