"Really helped me gain control and resilience"

About: Ottery St Mary Hospital / Cancer Services Ottery St Mary Hospital / Therapies

(as the patient),

Physiotherapy after colon cancer surgery

The Living with and beyond cancer care team invited me to an 8 week physiotherapy programme to help with issues I had regarding strengthening my core muscles and physical well being after my recent bowel cancer surgery.

I thought I was fairly fit before doing the exercises, but I have gained muscle strength that wouldn't have happened without help.
Rachel and the team really helped me gain control and resilience and am truly grateful for their help and kindness. They were attentive and always regarded the individual needs of our small group.
Without their help, I would not have been able to do half the things I can now achieve, as regards to physical activity and general wellbeing and confidence.

Dear JaneB55

Thank you so much for this feedback- I'm so glad the classes helped you rebuild your confidence and return to activity. We are a fairly new team, so this feedback is really valuable in helping us plan our service moving forwards!

Best wishes
Rachel
