"Nothing but the highest praise for all"

About: General practices in Fife Victoria Hospital / General Surgery Victoria Hospital / Theatres Victoria Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

I was diagnosed with bladder cancer last September. Right from going to my local gp to being referred for a urology scan, to having chemo and then removal of my bladder and womb etc, i have nothing but the highest praise for all who have treated me.

I have had the best of care both before and after my operation. I must also give thanks to the Community nurses at the Skeith Health centre who were wonderful in treating me after my wound dehissed. I honestly can't thank everyone concerned enough. Too often the NHS is criticised and the surgeons, oncologists, nurses etc don't get the credit they so deserve.

Dear perseussj56

Thank you for providing such lovely feedback regarding your care with NHS. It is very reassuring to hear of your high praise for the all the departments/teams which you have encountered during your care following your bladder cancer diagnosis.

I am sorry to hear that you had a wound issue following your surgery, however it sounds like you have been in good hands with your community nursing team. I hope this is now resolved and you are in good recovery.

I will share your story with the Urology teams and thank you again for taking the time to post your story on care opinion.

It is always really nice and humbling to know of the high standard of care which patients experience.

Best wishes

Jackie
