I was admitted to the bgh for a routine operation late May. The pre op care I received from the staff in ward 7 was fantastic. All incredibly friendly and supportive, putting me at ease when I was most anxious. The theatre team and theatre recovery nurse i had were second to none, kind, compassionate and calming. I can’t thank them enough. I was dreading having to stay overnight in ward 7, I’m not a good patient!

The staff I saw were run ragged but despite this their attention and care was delivered to a high standard. Special mention to student nurse Martha. She was incredible, what an amazing nurse she will be. Her knowledge was outstanding and her calm, friendly demeanour exactly what’s required for the job. She will go far and I wish her all the best in her future nursing career.

Thank you to all who were involved with my care. The staff aren’t praised enough and unfortunately, it’s the bad press that gets the most attention these days. I cannot praise highly enough for the care I received in, clearly, challenging times.
