"Excellent care"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

Attended A&E at Hairmyres Hospital with my elderly father and received excellent care.

The two ambulance technicians, Derek and Brian, were professional and extremely helpful- even bringing us tea and sandwiches and chatting to my dad as we waited.

He was triaged promptly and was subsequently given excellent care by Linzi the PA- who will make an excellent doctor.

Special mention to Colleen and the other CSW who took dad’s blood- both compassionate and efficient.

We’re so grateful to all who helped in busy and difficult circumstances and resulted in dad going home and us feeling reassured.

Dear Granny K

Thank you for taking the time to feedback on the care your father received during his recent attendance to the A&E department. I am pleased to read that your father was promptly triaged and then seen by PA Linzi.

Your comments will be shared with Linzi and Colleen who will very much appreciate your kind words. Thank you

Feedback is important to us all and will be shared with the wider team. I am sure my Scottish Ambulance Service colleagues will also link in with their staff Derek and Brian.

It is good to see that your dad was able to get home, however I also understand what a difficult and worrying time this must have been for all of you.

My best wishes are extended to you all

Lise

Thank you Mark for your kind wishes. Your staff were so professional but caring and considerate too. My father has dementia and they treated him with respect and understanding. Thanks again to Derek and Brian.
