"So supportive and encouraging"

About: Specialist Therapy Services / Community Stroke Team – South Notts

(as a service user),

I had my 2nd stroke in January 25 which has affected my writing as it was on my RH side again. My team were so supportive and encouraging.

My main supporter was Alice who came every week. She brought equipment for me to use and was exceptionally encouraging and cheerful while being firm and helpful. She also brought it in a lovely physiotherapist called Gareth who helped with exercises when I was struggling with my osteoarthritis.

I found the whole experience most useful as well as friendly and supportive. She also gave me courage to go out on my electric scooter again.

All the exercises were good and helped me to improve.

An excellent service

Dear scorecardns65

Thank you very much for taking the time to tell us about your experience with the Community Stroke Team.

It is really lovely to hear about the support you had to help you recover from your strokes and regain confidence and courage to go out again on your scooter. I will ensure that the team receive your feedback which I know they will be very happy to hear.

May I take this opportunity to wish you all the best for your future health and wellbeing.

Kind regards,

Claire Lee

Community Stroke Team Lead
