"Boundless empathy and kindness"

About: Victoria Hospital / Accident & Emergency Victoria Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as a service user),

I was admitted with a serious leg wound following a motorcycle accident.

Doctors and nurses were immediately in attendance with reassurance and timely information throughout the triage process. Special mention to nurse Louise (who bought me two chocolate bars with her own money), Aurora and doctors Andrew for his brilliant needlework and Spanish Doc, whose name I missed… so sorry.

Once my wound had been cleaned and stitched in advance of surgery, I was moved to Ward 33. All the staff here showed boundless empathy and kindness and offered help at every turn. Their approaches were professional but friendly and collectively they kept my spirits up before, during and after surgery.

Special mentions to Alison, Emma, Mora, Mica, Elinor (dream big) and the nice cleaning lady. Everything was superb and I am proud to know you all.
