When consulting 111 regarding an injury to a finger, I was advised to get medical attention and a tetanus jab. An appointment was made at High Wycombe minor injuries unit for 1.30 that day. I checked in on time and was asked to sit in the waiting room,
After about 5 minutes , one of the duty nurses (Hadid?) called me in and examined my wound. She then sent me for an X-ray. I waited only about 5 minutes before being seen, following which I returned to the waiting area. An even shorter wait before I was called back in by Hadid, who told me I had dislocated the finger. I accepted her offer of gas and air while she manipulated the finger to reset it. Then, back to X-ray. I returned to Hadid for confirmation the finger was now OK apart from the wound which she patched up.
Hadid was wonderful and explained everything very well. I left the hospital just over an hour after arriving. Being a bank holiday probably helped, but I was very impressed, and pleased, with the speed with which I was processed and the care I received.
"Brilliant service"
