"A clear, calm and positive manner"

Thank you so much to the South Ayrshire Council Occupational Therapy assistant practitioner who came out to visit my dad and issued a bath lift to assist him with bathing independently. Due to dads dementia and COPD he has physically struggled with bathing for some time and this impacts on his mental wellbeing. Yvonne the staff member engaged with dad in a clear, calm and positive manner and encouraged him to practice with the lift. The Tech from the equipment store was also present and helped with the fitting of the bath lift.

The next morning dad had a bath using the lift and was able to be submerged into the warm bath water. He was so happy and washed himself. Afterwards he said he "hadnt been as clean in years"!! Thank you so much.
