"Weaning advice"

About: Glasgow Community Services / Family Nurse Partnership

(as a service user),

I had a phone call with Kellie for my 4 month old baby about weaning. I had previously spoken to Kellie 2 years ago when my eldest was 4 months. I shared with her that I had followed her advice when weaning using the food rainbow - starting with green and white foods, then red and orange foods etc - and my now 2 year old still continues to eat any foods given to him. I found this approach to weaning very easy to follow and will continue to do this with my younger child when he reaches 6 months.

Dear Mama23

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with Kellie and the support you received around weaning. It’s wonderful to hear that her advice made such a positive impact—not only with your eldest child but now with your youngest as well.

We’re especially pleased that the food rainbow approach was helpful and easy to follow, and that it’s contributed to your child developing healthy and varied eating habits. It’s always rewarding to know that the guidance our team provides continues to benefit families long after the initial contact.

We’ll be sure to pass on your kind words to Kellie—she will be delighted to hear how much her support has meant to you. Thank you again for your feedback, and we wish you and your family all the very best as you continue your weaning journey with your youngest.

Kind regards

Kevin
