"Hospital stay and care I recieved"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

I have had to stay in hospital on the gastro and liver ward due to a recent medical episode of pancreatitis that lead to a infection and this meant I had to stay in for over a week and I was nervous as I don’t like staying over night in hospitals and also due to having autism. I was worried that I wouldn’t get the support I needed and be understood or this taken into consideration, but I was blown away the staff comforted me supported me on every need I required they helped or supported me, made personalised plans around my routines and addressed all areas I had issues or concerns. They made me feel listened to understood took my feelings into consideration kept me up to date with follow up plans and times medications where coming and I was always able to speak to a friendly member of staff or receptionist if I had any concerns or worries.

I felt safe and relaxed they took there time to come greet me every morning and night to check up and took the time to make me feel valued and welcomed the staff gave 1000% care and support and understanding.

The ward was always clean to the highest standard and the staff where fantastic I couldn’t ask for a better hospital stay under the circumstances

Thanks for this review, and really pleased you had a positive experience while in acute care, and all your needs were met.

HI Ben, T

Thank you so much for sending in your care opinion. I will feed it back to the ward team. Feedback such as yours is such a morale boost for staff so thank you again.
