My daughter was seen twice at the children's podiatry service based in Broughty Ferry Health Centre, the 2 different nurses she saw while there were both friendly, professional and kept her informed and involved throughout her appointments, explaining that she she may need to have the partial nail avulsion.
Eventually her treatment did lead to her having to have this procedure done, although she was happy to do this she was very nervous on the day, particularly about the anaesthetic and Elaine and her colleague kept my daughter calm and chatting about other things to distract from what was going on after explaining what she was going to be doing. Once the hard part was done, she had loads of praise from both ladies which went a long way to helping settle her nerves!
The whole procedure went really well and all aftercare fully explained. Two weeks on from treatment and everything is looking good but we have the information of where to seek support if needed.
Overall, the whole service my daughter has received over the past few appointments has been great and we couldn't fault the team that she dealt with.
All 3 ladies that were involved over her appointments were great and although she is a "child" they spoke directly with my daughter about her health care and the treatment and didn't disregard her because she is a "child".
"The whole service has been great"
