"Lack of lifts"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Renal and Transplant Services (Ward 4a, 4d)

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter discharged from ward 4A staff and treatment second to none.

My complaint was the lack of lifts - one lift working on each side, my daughter is blind,  a renal transplant dialysis patient, with multiple fractures of the spine, and wearing a back brace, had to leave the wheelchair she was in, and walk down 4 flights of stairs, absolute disgrace not for the first time.

One lift on each side working is a disgrace, she's lucky she managed to get down the stairs and other people coming down showed no care or consideration. Apart from a couple who offered to help carry our bags and toilet guard.

People in the lift were worse complaining about my daughter's wheelchair and talking about their ailments ,she was discharged before from transplant ward and had to walk downstairs due to overcrowded lifts 1 on each side.

Dear sboyl

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I am pleased that the care your daughter received was second to none.

I am sorry for the inconvenience caused by the lifts being out of order. We try to resolve issues with the lifts as quickly as possible as we know how disruptive this is to our patients, their families and our staff.

Please pass on my apologies to your daughter.

Kind Regards

Nicole
