"Staff made my brother feel safe"

About: Mid-Ulster Hospital / Minor Injuries Unit

(as other),

My brother went into hospital, as the night before he tripped on a concrete step and badly hurt himself.

The staff made him feel safe. He has autism and he was scared and nervous and the staff worked with him and he said they done amazing to help him feel safe and looked after him.

He said they deserve to know how well they helped him. He also wants to say thank you to everyone that has helped him in the hospital.

Hello chimpanzini bananini

My name is Victoria McCrory and I am the Assistant Clinical Services Manager for MUH MIU. I am very sorry to hear that your brother recently sustained an injury and had to seek further assessment and treatement.

I am delighted to hear that whilst attending MUH MIU that he had a positive experience, felt safe and was well looked after. Acute care settings can be a daunting place for individuals with autism, and I am glad to hear that staff worked well with your brother and helped ease any fear or feelings of nervousness which he may have been experiencing.

Please let your brother know that I will ensure his gratitude will be passed onto the staff in the MUH MIU, and I know they will be delighted to hear his positive feedback.

I hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Yours Sincerely

Victoria McCrory

ACSM MUH MIU
