"Waited 9.5hrs to be told nothing we can do"

About: Gynaecology / Gynaecology & Early Pregnancy Inpatients (Ward 36)

(as the patient),

The staff at Ninewells Hospital have always been amazing—caring, professional, and clearly doing their best under pressure.

We were welcomed onto Ward 36, where there was ample space and the team made us feel at ease.

However, the doctors seemed incredibly stretched, constantly on call for emergencies and covering multiple wards. This led to a lot of stress and unnecessary delays.

A simple suggestion to return in the morning for a scan could have saved hours of waiting around. Time management and better triaging would really help make the experience smoother for patients and ease the burden on already overworked staff.

Hi 36_vix

Thank you for taking the time to give feedback, we genuinely value and read all responses we get!

I am sorry to hear of your extended wait. I will look into adjusting our triage process to make use of appointments in our assessment areas when they are open, as spaces allow.

If you would like to discuss this, or any other matter regarding your time with us, please get in touch with the ward.

Thanks again

Claire
