"Visit to dermatology and oncology for melanoma"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Dermatology Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Same Day Surgical Assessment

(as the patient),

The day started with a full body inspection looking for any possible new melanoma moles, Katie found one on the scar on my back. I was expecting to be called back to the clinic in a couple of weeks but they managed to find an opening later in the same day after my oncology clinic.

At this surgical excision  Monique introduced herself then she fully introduced the rest of the team of Sarah and Laura. Everyone was ready for me to have a punch biopsy which was painless and straight forward. The wound was dressed and instructions on the wound management verbally and backed up by an information leaflet. Anyone worrying about a punch biopsy need not worry the procedure is painless.

Thankyou Plump54 for your kind feedback. We do try and get patients biopsied the same day where possible. I am pleased that you had a good experience with us, I will pass you feedback on to the team in question.

Jason
