Went the wound clinic at Loch Leven Health Centre to have my staples removed from my left knee following a total knee replacement.
On the first visit Nurse Audrey informed me that it was possibly too soon as it was only 9 days after the operation. She looked at the wound which confirmed her opinion, she asked if I would therefore come back on the 14 day.
On the next visit she carefully took every other one out, and she rebooked another appointment a few days later to remove the other staples. She decided to put some suture tapes on some parts of the wound to assist healing.
At every stage she was polite, cheerful and very professional. As a precaution, another appointment was made with a Nurse Mae a few days later.
Nurse Mae was happy with the state of the wound and signed me off.
I would like to say that throughout the the experience I felt confident and reassured by their kindness and professional attitude.
