Patient Review – Highfield Hospital, Rochdale
I recently underwent ACL surgery at Highfield Hospital, Rochdale, and I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the entire team for the outstanding care I received during my stay.
From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly warm, professional, and attentive. Special thanks to the team who went above and beyond to ensure I felt comfortable and well looked after. They assisted me with walking, changing, and other post-operative needs in a way that was dignified, respectful, and never awkward. Their compassion and dedication made my experience so much easier.
I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to my consultant, whose professionalism and reassurance were greatly appreciated. His clear communication and expertise gave me confidence throughout the process.
One area where I felt there was room for improvement was with some of the kitchen staff. While not rude, I found their demeanour to be rather curt. When I politely explained to one of them that I had only eaten a couple of bites and puked due to the effects of medication and surgery, I was met with a very blunt response: “Well, that’s none of my concern, tell the nurses.” It may simply be a reflection of their personalities or age, but a warmer, more empathetic approach—perhaps even just a smile—would have gone a long way in making the patient experience more pleasant.
That said, the overall standard of care and hospitality I received from the medical and support staff was excellent, and I am truly grateful. I’m now recovering at home and improving steadily.
A big thank you to everyone at Highfield Hospital.
"Great Hospitality "
