About: Sidwell Street Clinic / Exeter Sexual Health

Booked on the day as very anxious about symptoms. Needed to ‘just do it!’

All staff really open welcoming and friendly

I am very anxious about the symptoms and tests and will remain so until results arrive, but staff were so caring and calm the visit was absolutely amazing thank you

Total honesty and explanation around examination, tests and what next.

All so quick but did not feel rushed at all.

I am not afraid to discuss intimate things with anyone (I am a healthcare worker)

And the visit reinforced the need to normalise conversations around this.

I answer phone calls from patients, book their appointments, find answers to their questions through liaising with clinicians, welcome patients and help where necessary. Plus admin duties.

Thank you for taking time to respond to your visit to our clinic.

We all here understand the very sensitive nature of our particular remit and that our patients can come in fearful, emotional and anxious how to even approach the subject of their reasons for attending. On this it is great to know that the treatment you received was both professional and caring and, just as importantly, patient lead.

I totally agree with you that having a more open culture when discussing such matters would be very positive as even, as you say, that even a healthcare worker can find such conversations anxiety inducing.
