"Nursing care"

About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Neurosciences (DCN)

(as a service user),

My story begins last December when I was first admitted to the DCN unit. The nurses were all amazing, so upbeat and kind and compassionate.

Since then I have spent most of the last 7 months on the DCN unit due to complications with surgeries etc. my most recent admission has been for 10 weeks and is still ongoing.

The nursing staff have been incredible and have always been a shoulder to cry on and have been kind.

Two nurses in particular I would like to highlight is Kathryn who noticed that I hadn't been able to brush my hair and spent 40 mins helping me brush it out - it felt amazing afterwards! And Mary who is just incredible and has become my favourite nurse. She even brought me in various masks (face masks etc) to use!

The staff here are some of the best that I have had the pleasure of being looked after by. The unit should be very proud!

Dear moonpie1984

Thank you for taking time to share your experience in relation to the care you are receiving in DCN.

I hope your recovery from surgery is going well.

I am pleased to learn of the compassion and kindness you have received from the staff.

I have shared your feedback with Kathryn and Mary and all the team on the wards.

Kind regards

Joseph
