"Amazing patient care"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

In early April, I took unwell with chest and abdominal pain. My partner called 111, who in turn arranged for an ambulance.  Within 10 minutes the Emergency response team arrived, 2 lovely young ladies, who were amazing  ( sorry I didnt get their names ).  They did an ECG, blood pressure, pulse etc.  5 minutes later an ambulance arrived -   Scott and Angela.  The care and attention I was given was outstanding.  My elderly Mum lives with me and she has dementia.  Angela made sure my Mum was safe and comfortable - as I was very worried about leaving her. Scott and Angela were brilliant. So kind, caring, professional -  they put me at ease, did more tests and took me to Hairmyres.

The response team, ambulance crew and staff at A&E were amazing.

When I arrived at A&E, it was obvious the staff were very much under pressure.  The waiting room was full.   The nurses and doctors were brilliant.  Although rushed off their feet they gave amazing patient care.  I was given ECG, blood tests, chest x-ray and was very well looked after.   After many tests I was discharged in the early evening.  The staff were so nice and very thorough.

We are so lucky to have the NHS. I would to thank all the staff at A&E for the work that they do, and to tell them how much they are appreciated.

Dear Anne732

Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding the care you received when you were unwell with chest and abdominal pain. I am pleased to read that you are seen promptly by the ambulance service Scott and Angela and that they also made sure your mum was comfortable. It must have been a worrying time for you, feeling unwell and also concerned at leaving your mum.

I will share your comments regarding the care you received by the doctors and nurses in A&E as they will appreciate reading your kind words.

I hope that you are recovering well

Thank you again

Best wishes

Lise
