"No patience for the patient "

About: Wide Way Medical Centre

Booked an appointment for my father as he has concerns and recently diagnosed Parkinson. Doctor seemed rushed and was trying to hurry the appointment on where my father felt discouraged to ask more questions. We asked if they can refer us to a nurse for Parkinson as Croydon does not cover Merton she said Britain nurse would need to find someone but Croydon nurse said to ask gp. Whole expertise was rushed and my dad felt uncomfortable to ask questions

We sincerely apologise that your father felt rushed during his consultation, especially at such a sensitive and important time following his Parkinson’s diagnosis. We understand how vital it is for patients and their families to feel heard, supported, and given the time they need to ask questions and understand their care options fully.

It is also concerning to hear about the confusion around the Parkinson’s nurse referral. You are absolutely right to expect clear and coordinated information, and we’re sorry this was not the case. We would like review what took place to ensure patients aren't left feeling passed back and forth.

Please know that your feedback has been shared with the clinical team, and we would welcome the opportunity to make things right. If your father is open to it, we would be happy to arrange a follow-up appointment with additional time if needed, with a clinician who can go through his concerns more thoroughly. Our aim is always to provide care that is compassionate, clear, and patient-centered.
