"Surrounded by the most wonderful, caring staff"

About: Stepping Hill Hospital / General medicine

(as a relative),

Dad spent 8 weeks receiving the very best of care in Stepping Hill hospital in Stockport.

He then was taken to an NHS discharge to assess bed at Abney Court Care Home in Cheadle.

He had a room on the top floor, Gladstone Suite.

Although he sadly passed away there after nearly 3 weeks, he was treated with kindness, dignity and respect.

Most of all the amazing staff listened.

Both to dad and to us his family.

When dad's health deteriorated and he made the choice not to go back into hospital they gave him the very best of care.

Nothing was too much trouble.

They were fantastic in every way, and we are so grateful that he spent his last few weeks of life surrounded by the most wonderful, caring staff.

Good afternoon,

Thank you for taking the time to feedback about the care your Dad received from Stepping Hill hospital. First of all, I am sorry about your loss and pass on my condolences to you and your family.

It was truly lovely to read about the compassionate care he received from the ward teams while he was in the hospital and how this continued when he went to Abney Court Care Home. This is important at any time but more so when someone is needing this level of care. I am also pleased to see that you as a family were listened to and treated with kindness.

I will share your feedback as part of our Patient Experience report as this is shared with senior staff across the organisation.

I wish you continued comfort during this difficult time.

Kind regards,

Aoife Isherwood

Patient Experience Team
