"Excellent woman-centred care"

About: Southern Health & Social Care Trust / Antenatal Education

(as a service user),

Just finished the course of online evening antenatal classes with the Southern Trust run by the lovely Karolina and Nora. When I signed up for the classes, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect and wondered if it was going to be a bit boring and common sense advice that I wouldn’t find very useful being read from a script at me from a screen. Very happy to say I was completely wrong!!

Nora and Karolina were so wonderful and made the classes somehow feel like just a nice wee casual space to learn, chat and have a bit of craic with them and other mums even through the barrier that comes with the nature of things being online. Through all the classes, things were kept engaging, conversational and approachable, with plenty of encouragement and support along the way. It was a great space to be able to ask any questions that felt a bit silly or you had between midwife appointments, and they are brilliant at signposting you to all the support you could possibly need and then some.

As a first time mum, not only did I learn so much from the classes, but I’ve finished them feeling so much more confident as well as excited about having my baby, and with all the worry that I felt before lifted off of me and out of my head as I know that there is a massive range of support that I can access if I need it along the way for any reason.

I can’t recommend going to the classes enough, you will gain so much from these knowledgable and lovely women who are so passionate about supporting all mums through their journeys and providing woman-centred care to enable you to make your own informed decisions - besides it’s a really nice excuse to pop your feet up with a wee cup of tea on a Thursday evening as well :)

A massive thank you to these two, who will have undoubtedly made such a huge difference to so many women’s experience of their pregnancies through their genuine natures and dedication to the care they provide, as they have with mine.

Dear Kemmy,

Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! It means the world to us that you found our antenatal classes to be a welcoming and enjoyable space to learn, chat, and have a good time. Preparing for parenthood is such a special journey, and we’re thrilled that as a first-time mummy, you felt supported and empowered every step of the way.

Our team is truly passionate about creating a friendly, relaxed atmosphere where expectant parents can not only gain valuable knowledge but also connect with others, share experiences, and build lasting friendships. Knowing that you had such a positive experience and would wholeheartedly recommend the classes is incredibly rewarding for us.

We wish you all the best as you embrace this exciting new chapter of parenthood, and we hope to see you again in the future—perhaps at one of our Walking Bumps meet-ups! If there’s anything else we can do to support you, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Warmest wishes,

Gemma
