"Phenomenal experience"

About: St Michael's Hospital (Bristol)

I came into St Michael's Hospital for my planned c-section. From the moment I arrived and for every single staff member I came into contact with were phenomenal. Nothing was ever too much. I would like to specifically comment on the theatre staff who performed my c-section. They all made me feel so relaxed. Really positive vibes and so caring. My recovery nurse in central delivery suit was amazing and picked up a slight breathing deflect from my newborn, luckily nothing came of this, but she kept a close eye and informed the appropriate colleagues to assist. The staff on ward 76 were also amazing and so helpful.

During my stay in hospital, unfortunately there was a live fire which resulted in evacuation. Once again the staff were absolutely phenomenal in such a panicked environment, from getting emotional new mums carrying their newborns and expecting mums down and out the building safely. The university across the road kindly offered their building for the staff and patients to use and the amount of supplies that staff were bring into the patients from food, water, nappies, formula, sanitary pads, obs machines and also kept up with giving amd recording majority of patient pain meds. It was incredible to see such an amazing team pull together and sort a hectic unplanned situation.

Thank you all so much for being amazing and giving me the best possible patient experience.
