"Fantastic support"

I want to express my deepest gratitude to the incredible Colleen and student midwife Stacey who supported me throughout my labour and forceps. From the moment they introduced themselves, they brought a calm, compassionate presence into the room that made a world of difference during such an intense experience.

They were attentive, knowledgeable and empathetic. Colleen is a credit to labour suite and kept me calm while getting an epidural, writing on the ipad, explained everything to my partner and me, all while being an incredibly patient and supportive teacher to Stacey. As an educator myself, I know this is no mean feat!

Despite still being in training, Stacey demonstrated the confidence and competence of someone far beyond her years of experience. She explained everything clearly, held my hand through difficult moments and made sure I felt safe and heard every step of the way.

While in theatre, she remained composed and reassuring, providing emotional support and practical help that made all the difference. Her dedication and genuine care stood out not just to me, but also to my partner. She is an absolute credit to the profession, and I have no doubt she will make an outstanding midwife. 

Thank you for being such a vital part of my birth experience. I’ll never forget your kindness.
