"I am eternally grateful to the team"

About: One Recovery Bucks / High Wycombe

(as a service user),

I first went to One Recovery in 2021 after becoming addicted to smoking heroin. As it was soon after the pandemic the service was limited and after a short period of treatment I left the service and fell back into abusing drugs.

In 2024 I realised I desperately needed help and again I got in touch with the service. I was seen quickly and this time felt like it would be possible to become sober again.

I was paired with an amazing support worker, Sara, who was always there to help and give advice. I was also offered some mental health treatment and once I had attended those meetings I felt I had the means to support myself in the future. I was very nervous during my treatment of any problems arising with my health as I knew how a detox feels but regular meetings with the doctor and my support worker put my mind at ease.

It has been a long process but it has been 5 weeks since my detox from the medication and I am now feeling stronger and more healthy.

I would recommend One Recovery to anyone experiencing drug or alcohol abuse. The staff there do really care and they will help you to recover and gain your life back.

I am eternally grateful to the team for enabling me to restart my life and have a more positive outlook.
