Following a 4-month hospital stay during which I was bedbound, I have received 5 months of physiotherapy from Community Health Care based in Bideford hospital and led by Susan.
She and her colleagues, Tracey, Lorraine & Ning, motivated me to get moving. With a mixture of gentle bullying, encouragement and advice they have got me to a stage where I can now walk using two walking sticks and have come to the end of my treatment.
The journey was not easy for me, though I tried to practise what I'd been taught after each visit with the help of my wife, and involved progressing from bed exercises to wheelchair to re-turn and to walking frame before finally getting me to be independent on the sticks.
They are a very friendly and professional team and I shall miss their visits. I would highly recommend them.
"A very friendly and professional team"
