"A very friendly and professional team"

About: Community Services - North Devon / Community Rehabilitation

(as the patient),

Following a 4-month hospital stay during which I was bedbound, I have received 5 months of physiotherapy from Community Health Care based in Bideford hospital and led by Susan.

She and her colleagues, Tracey, Lorraine & Ning, motivated me to get moving. With a mixture of gentle bullying, encouragement and advice they have got me to a stage where I can now walk using two walking sticks and have come to the end of my treatment.

The journey was not easy for me, though I tried to practise what I'd been taught after each visit with the help of my wife, and involved progressing from bed exercises to wheelchair to re-turn and to walking frame before finally getting me to be independent on the sticks.

They are a very friendly and professional team and I shall miss their visits. I would highly recommend them.

Many thanks for your feedback about your time with the Bideford Community Rehab Team.

It was so lovely to be involved in your rehabilitation and recovery following your long hospital stay and a pleasure to have progressed your mobility back from being bed bound to walking with sticks. Your hard work paid off with the support from your wife and a little bit of encouragement from the therapy support workers.

I will pass on your kind feedback to Tracey, Lorraine, Ning and the rest of the team.

I wish you continued success and progression with your long term goals and the team would be more than happy to support you in the future if your needs change.

Many thanks

Susan
