"Brilliant service"

About: Adult Health & Support Services / Primary Care Out of Hours NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as a parent/guardian),

My son had been feeling unwell since the Thursday, we had been to local chemist for advice, got over-the-counter medication, but by the Sunday his sinuses were blocked, sore throat and start of chest infection.

Called NHS24 at 3pm, call taken within 15 min and after review was informed that he would be seen by NHSL OOH service.  A call then from NHSL OOH with an appointment for 9.30pm at OOH Douglas Street.

On arrival, 10 min wait, he was seen by CSW and had observations taken, back to waiting area and 10 min later seen by ANP Laura, who examined him and explained his conditions and antibiotics issued.

Brilliant service from both services and after 5 days of antibiotics he's recovered and feeling fine.

Thanks to all, as I know how busy the services can be :-)

Good afternoon cesmo.

Thank you for taking the time to post about your positive experience when you had to attend the Primary Care Out of Hours service with your son for an appointment at Douglas Street, Hamilton.

I will pass on your lovely comments to Laura and the team and they will be very pleased to hear that the care your son was given was gratefully received.

I hope your son continues to recover well.

Take care, Pamela.

Dear cesmo

Thank you for taking the time to share your story on Care Opinion. It's lovely to hear of the positive journey you and your son experienced from your initial call the 111 service to the care you received during your appointment at Douglas Street.
