"Manner of staff member"

About: Gartnavel General Hospital / Medical Day Unit (Ward 7A)

(as the patient),

I have been a regular attendee of the Immunology Department at Gartnavel 7A over the past while. Whilst the professionalism from majority of the team has been superb, I must comment on the manner of one member of staff.

Their mannerism towards staff (and patients!) leaves much to be desired, giving critical feedback to colleagues whilst in the room with patients is awkward to experience as a patient, and makes me dread my appointments.

I can hear every word of what is discussed, and find it unacceptable to hear this member of staff asking colleagues why they’ve done this or that for patients.

Whilst I appreciate being thorough is important, there is a place and time to give feedback and in front of patients it not where it should go on, or in the tone it is delivered in.
