My daughter and I visited the out of hours service on a Sunday mid May around lunch time. My daughter was suffering with an extremely bad case of tonsillitis and was in extreme pain.
Every member of staff we came across was absolutely excellent.
Anna was seen promptly by Lesley who I believe was a trainee nurse practitioner.
Lesley was kind, friendly and knowledgable. She took my daughter’s health concerns seriously and asked lots of questions so she had an accurate picture of what was going on. Lesley then asked a nurse practitioner called Nicola for a second opinion.
Nicola checked Anna’s throat and discussed her findings with Lesley and my daughter. Nicola was really fantastic and we were very confident with her level of expertise.
Both Lesley and Nicola couldn’t have done enough to help. Anna was given medication then and there and Nicola told Anna exactly what to do if her symptoms did not improve.
I have had some experiences in the nhs that are really quite negative. I was so impressed with Anna’s level of care that I felt I should comment here so that there is some kind of recognition that there are amazing people working in the nhs.
"Every member of staff was absolutely excellent"
